The rainwater drainage of the roof sheeting limits the total length of sheet run that must be considered in roof design and construction. The following table serves as a guide for architects and contractors on the maximum recommended length of roof run against roof slopes and rainfall intensities. The roof run is the total length of roof sheeting draining rainwater in one direction including any end laps, expansion joints or steps that may be present in the roof.
